Selective process

Admission to the PPGCOGCOM / UFMG master and doctoral programs is annual. The selective processes occur in the second semester and the selected candidates will join the program the following year. Usually around 25 vacancies are offered for the master’s degree and around 8 for the doctorate.

To sign up:

• click on the link for the call;
• fill out the registration form (http://www.fafich.ufmg.br/psicogcom/selecao/);
• generate and pay the ticket for the registration fee (https://consulta.tesouro.fazenda.gov.br/gru/gru_simples.asp );
• send or deliver the specified documents to the Secretary of the PPGCOGCOM / UFMG (room 4005, Fafich, UFMG).

Detailed explanations on the enrollment and on the payment of the fee can be found in the call for the selection process. Requests after the deadline or with incomplete or irregular documentation will be rejected.

The program requires all applicants to provide a proof of instrumental knowledge of the English language.

To find out the certificates accepted for the proof of other languages, please access the link. You may take the necessary exams at the Faculty of Letters of the UFMG. Stay tuned for the dates, since the language exams in this faculty have an independent calendar.

At the time of registration, along with the other documents required and according to the current call, the candidate must submit a letter of intent specifying his/her research interests within the range of choices offered by the program. This letter should contain the line of research intended, a summary and the theoretical basis of the topic of interest.

The selection process will follow two stages:

• a written test in which the candidate must obtain at least 70 points in 100 to be approved. This exam has eliminatory and classificatory character;
• analysis of the curriculum and the arguing on the candidate’s letter of intent. The analysis of the curriculum is equivalent to 20% and the arguing to 80% of the total mark of this 2^nd stage, which also has eliminatory and classificatory character.

• analysis of the curriculum and the arguing on the candidate’s research project. The analysis of the curriculum is equivalent to 20% and the arguing to 80% of the total mark of this 2^nd stage, which also has eliminatory and classificatory character.
